1987 Cadillac Sedan deVille by TheHunteroftheUndead 1987 Cadillac Sedan deVille by TheHunteroftheUndead
The Cadillac deVille was originally introduced in 1949 as a trim level on the Series 62. The deVille became a standalone model in 1959. It was sold as a sedan or a coupe. A convertible was added to the lineup in 1964. The convertible would be dropped in 1970. The deVille entered its sixth generation in 1985. It was considerably smaller than its predecessor. It used front wheel drive. Engine offerings were the 4.3L LS2 diesel V6 and the 4.1L HT-4100 V8. It was the only car riding on GM's C platform to use a V8. 1986 would see an auto-dimming electrochromic rearview mirror, an anti-lock braking system, and an optional in-car phone that cost a whopping $2,850. 1987 would see a trapezoidal eggcrate grille, new headlights, and new rear design. The deVille became known as the DTS in 2005. It was eventually discontinued in 2011. Seen at a Wal-Mart in Prescott, AZ.
